Pricing
Running your home is free. The keys and the books are $10.
Free covers the stays calendar, the upkeep lists, the stock, and a home watcher’s whole loop — for as many homes as you have. The $10 buys two things: keys for the rest of the family, and the books — every bill, every cost split, and the improvements that set your cost basis.
Free
Running the place yourself.
$0 forever
no card, no clock · however many homes you have
- Each home’s card — the photo, the address, what it’s worth today and what you paid.
- The stays calendar — your own comings and goings, planned ahead.
- Upkeep and supplies — open-up and shutdown lists, repairs from photo to fixed, what’s run out.
- A home watcher’s whole loop — her visit reports, her photos, the jobs you send her, her invoices with the way she takes payment.
My Shared Home
Sharing it with the family.
$10 / month
or $100 a year — two months free · every home, however many
- Keys for the family — siblings, cousins, whoever should have one. Everyone you invite comes in free.
- One stays calendar — everyone with a key sees who’s coming before they book.
- Every bill in one list — the electric, the taxes, the insurance, the plow contract: what’s due next and what’s late.
- The home’s ledger — the roof, the propane, the plumber: every cost split, with a running who-owes-what.
- Improvements against your basis — the new roof and the dock recorded against what you paid, so the gain is right the day you sell.
Sign up free. The $10 starts the day you hand out a key or open the books.
The fine print, in plain words
- When does the $10 start?
- The day you hand out a key or open the home’s books. Everything else — the calendar, the upkeep, the stock, a watcher’s reports — stays free for as long as you like, no card and no countdown.
- How many homes does it cover?
- All of them. The lake house, the condo, the place your mother left you — one price for the family, never one per house. Same for people: invite as many as have a reason to be there.
- Do the people I invite pay?
- No. Whoever set the family up pays. Siblings, cousins, whoever holds a key — they come in free, whenever they join.
- What if a home watcher looks after the place?
- That home’s loop stays free to its owners for as long as she’s looking after it — her reports and photos, the jobs you queue up, the quotes you approve, her invoices with the way she takes payment. Her invoice is the only bill. Sharing the home around her — keys, the calendar, the splitting — is the $10. Looking for someone to watch a place? That is House Matters.
- How does settling up work?
- You settle with your brother the way you always have — Venmo, Zelle, cash, a check — and it gets recorded against the right expense for everyone to see. Paying a home watcher goes through her own invoicing, so that money lands straight with her.
- What if I stop paying?
- Nothing is deleted. Each home keeps its card — the photo, the address, what it’s worth — and everything underneath waits behind one button. One month brings all of it back exactly as it was.
- What about the rest of my family’s money?
- Money lent inside the family, gifts, family funds, college savings — that is Family Matters, $25 a month at myfamilymatters.com. Same app, and your homes carry on exactly as they are.
- I’m already using it — do I start paying?
- No. Every family here on the day the price started stays free, for good.
- And the calculators and guides on this site?
- Free, and no sign-up. The buyout math and the expense-split math run right in your browser.
